The Australian Cattle dog, as the name implies, comes from Down Under. This is a true working dog, whose alternative Aussie name is the Queensland Heeler.

Contrary to popular belief, this breed is not a native of Australia. TheAustralian Shepherd has been well known to livestock people in America for more than a century.

The Beardie was first registered here in 1964. For centuries he worked as the Scottish Highland shepherd’s able assistant, hunting and gathering freeranging sheep in the rugged countryside.

First registered with KUSA in 1966, the four varieties of Belgian Shepherd Dog come from Belgium and take their individual names from the villages or towns where they originate.
