The golden years
| As we age our bodies start to lose the ability to compensate and return the body to a ‘normal state’. For example thirst control of older cats is diminished, leading to poor water intake with consequences such as constipation and urinary tract problems.
This becomes noticeable in a cat at about the age of seven years, whichcorresponds to an age of 50 in humans. This lifestage is called mature adult or senior. The external changes may not be very evident, but the internal organs are certainly slowing down.
